Message from the Principal

Dear Parker Early Childhood Center Families and Community,

I want to take this opportunity to introduce myself to all of you!

My name is Ellyn Gallant-Bland. I will be your child's principal. I have worked at NBPS since 2002. I have been a Pre-K teacher, a Special Education teacher and an administrator.   Early childhood education is my passion thus, I am very excited to start this with you.

We want our school family to be an extension of your family. We want to serve you in times of joy, happiness, and triumph, but also in times of challenge, grief, and struggle. Academic learning and growth are our bottom line, yet we also understand that educating students means being attentive to the “whole child” and caring about their social and emotional well-being.
Maria Montessori once said, "The goal of early childhood should be to activate the child's own natural desire to learn", and that is what we plan to do!

Our teachers and staff are dedicated to providing your child with the best educational experience throughout their time at Parker ECC. We value having parents/ guardians as partners, contributing to your child learning, growth, and development as well as to our positive school culture.

Please visit The Parker Website and the New Bedford Public Schools (NBPS) Facebook page. We update these pages often with news and important information.

Our website is also a good place to find information. You can find every message we send to families on our website. You can also find our newsletters and other important information there.

The Parker Early Childhood Center is a place for learning. It is a place where everyone belongs, grows, and gets support. This includes students, families, and the community. We all try to be Safe, Kind, Respectful, and Responsible every day. Thank you for being part of our school!

Sincerely,
Ms. Gallant- Bland
